Summary

Andersen is seeking a Tableau/BI Developer in the EU for a major logistics project with a global UK-based transport leader. The role involves supporting data-related tasks for a mobile app focused on trip planning, ticket booking, and real-time transport information.

The customer is a leading international public transport operator headquartered in the UK, delivering over one billion passenger journeys annually across more than ten countries including Spain, the United States, Germany, and Morocco. Listed on the London Stock Exchange, the company offers a diverse portfolio of services ranging from long-distance coaches and urban buses to rail, airport shuttles, school transport, and demand-responsive transit. With a workforce exceeding 50,000 employees, it is committed to sustainable mobility, aiming to drive modal shift, reduce emissions, and support greener cities.

The project is a mobile application that allows users to plan bus trips, book and manage tickets, track routes in real-time, and get information about stops, promotions, and schedule changes.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supporting a high volume of Tableau dashboards (organization has ~340 Tableau licenses).
  • Handling front-end Tableau development tasks.
  • Reporting formatting and layout adjustments.
  • Filtering and parameter updates.
  • Visualizing data improvements (charts, tables, tooltips, actions, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting and resolving report-related issues quickly.
  • Conducting minor enhancements based on user requests.
  • Ensuring access control and user permissions are properly applied.
  • Collaborating with business users and the internal BI team.
  • Maintaining Tableau best practices for design, development, and performance optimization.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Tableau/BI Developer for 2+ years.
  • Strong understanding of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Ability to navigate and use pre-defined data sources (SQL and Excel-based).
  • Strong understanding of Visual best practices in dashboard design.
  • Understanding of filters, parameters, calculated fields, and LOD expressions.
  • Knowledge of publishing and maintaining workbooks on Tableau Server.
  • Solid understanding of access rights and user management within Tableau.
  • Good knowledge of Tableau performance tuning (how to improve the performance at the data source level, at dashboard level and at workbook level).
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
