Summary

Andersen is hiring a Solutions Architect for a project with a global payments leader. The role involves developing a new credit card management system for a major bank in Azerbaijan.

The project is the development of a new credit card management system for a major bank in Azerbaijan, seamlessly integrated into the existing digital ecosystem. It is a large-scale initiative focused on building a secure, high-performance, and scalable platform to ensure efficient credit card lifecycle management and support the expansion of lending services.

Responsibilities

  • Defining and owning the overall solution architecture for credit card management and payment processing systems.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, secure, and high-performance technical solutions.
  • Designing end-to-end architectures covering applications, integrations, data models, and infrastructure.
  • Leading and guiding development teams in implementing best practices for microservices, event-driven, and serverless architectures.
  • Overseeing system integration between credit card platforms (in-house development), core banking system (Oracle Flex Cube), and external payment system (OpenWay).
  • Conducting technical reviews, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for new initiatives.
  • Preparing solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborating with Business/System Analysts to ensure requirements are accurately reflected in technical designs.
  • Identifying and mitigating technical risks, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Proven, up-to-date hands-on experience in credit card management systems, with direct involvement in end-to-end implementations.
  • Professional experience for 7+ years, including 3-5 years dedicated to the credit and/or cards domain (as Architect, Developer, or Analyst).
  • Strong expertise in credit card core processes and lending management systems, including ISO 8583 & card processing flows, processing & core banking system interaction, end-of-day (EOD) processing, interest calculation, delinquency handling, and payment schedules & re-schedules.
  • Experience designing and implementing data models for credit card systems.
  • Strong knowledge of integration patterns between card management and core banking, card processing platforms.
  • Deep expertise in architectural styles: microservices, event-driven, etc.
  • Proficiency in designing secure, scalable, high-availability systems.
  • Hands-on experience with payment platforms such as OpenWay, Compass, or Ocean.
  • Ability to document solution architectures in a clear, business-aligned manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and guide them in implementing architectural best practices.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder communication, bridging the gap between technical and business teams.
  • Capable of influencing solution design decisions across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments and deliver high-quality results within short timeframes.
  • Level of English – from Intermediate+.

Desired skills

  • Experience with core banking platforms (e.g., FlexCube, Temenos).
  • Hands-on involvement in system integration projects with OpenWay and FlexCube.
