Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Building and optimizing database structures and queries to ensure performance and reliability.
• Implementing integrations with third-party services and internal systems.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices (SOLID, DRY, KISS).
• Performing code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting issues across environments.
• Developing automated tests (unit, integration, and functional) to ensure product quality.
• Collaborating closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams.
• Participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Continuously improving system performance, scalability, and security.

Requirements

• Commercial experience as a Ruby Developer for 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs (ActiveRecord).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Understanding of testing frameworks (RSpec, Minitest, or similar).
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Level of English – Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Developing web applications using React.
• Working with any cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
