Andersen is hiring a Junior IT Support Engineer to provide L1/L2 assistance for a global energy transportation company, ensuring stable operations and resolving technical issues.
The customer is a major international company in the energy transportation sector, managing a large fleet and providing essential maritime services. The organization supports global supply chains through reliable operations, modern infrastructure, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency, enabling the stable delivery of critical resources worldwide.
The project is a support initiative providing L1/L2 assistance across the entire organization. It includes handling diverse operational tasks, resolving technical issues, and ensuring continuous, reliable support for the company’s global activities.
Responsibilities
- Providing 24/7 Tier-1 IT Help Desk support with a focus on night shifts for both corporate headquarters and global fleet.
- Handling incoming hotline calls and tickets, performing first-line troubleshooting: account unlocks, password/PIN resets; Outlook and email-related issues; PC performance issues (slowness, freeze); and basic network and connectivity checks.
- Recording, categorizing, and prioritizing incidents in the ticketing system with accurate documentation.
- Resolving all issues within Tier-1 scope and escalating to Tier-2 teams (Corporate IT or Fleet IT) when needed.
- Maintaining communication with end users until issue resolution or proper escalation.
- Following established SLAs, escalation rules, and shift handover procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement by identifying recurring problems and proposing preventive actions.
Requirements
- Experience as an IT Support Engineer for 1+ years.
- Experience providing reliable Tier-1 technical support in a 24/7 environment, including night-shift coverage.
- Strong basic IT troubleshooting skills across Windows, Outlook, user account management, and network fundamentals.
- Fluent communication skills, with the ability to support a geographically distributed user base.
- Ability to independently resolve common IT issues, document actions clearly, and escalate appropriately to Tier-2 when needed.
- Dependable, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently during night shifts (Qatar time zone).
- Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
