Business Analyst

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Business Analyst to support enhancements of a digital mortgage platform, defining requirements and improving integrations, automation, and cloud-based banking services.

The customer is a UK-based financial services provider specializing in digital banking solutions. Operating on a fully cloud-based platform, the company offers a range of innovative products, including savings accounts, loans, and mortgages, designed to cater to specific customer needs. With a strong focus on simplicity, agility, and customer-centric design, they aim to modernize the banking experience. The company is regulated by the UK’s financial authorities and has earned recognition for its innovative approach in the financial services sector.

The project is focused on maintaining and enhancing the mortgage platform, with efforts directed towards improving system resilience. The team is responsible for updating credit agency integrations, introducing automated payment services, and migrating existing systems to a new AWS environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing project-level analysis and producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan).
• Working closely with business units to gain an in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the operational context.
• Running workshops, one-on-one interviews, and working group sessions to elicit detailed requirements from key stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Finance, etc.).
• Designing and gaining support for new business operating models and processes.
• Analyzing and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Creating detailed process flows, acceptance criteria, and data specifications to support User Stories.
• Reviewing draft requirements with product owners, functional SMEs, and/or relevant build partners.
• Preparing documentation for sign-off and hosting design review sessions or working group meetings with stakeholders and multiple SMEs.
• Resolving design-related queries during implementation and/or building.
• Working closely with stakeholders to develop training materials and provide support to internal teams to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, features, or changes.
• Contributing to agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment with the development team’s activities (where required).

Requirements

• Experience as a Business Analyst for 3+ years.
• Industry related qualifications or certification (fintech/banking).
• Demonstrable track record in financial services business analysis and requirements gathering.
• The ability to translate business concepts into technical requirements (and vice versa when explaining concepts to stakeholders).
• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders and varying levels within organizations.
• Experience using Business Analysis and change tools such as Jira, Confluence, GSuite, LucidChart or similar.
• Excellent verbal reasoning and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experienced in Agile delivery methods and practices, especially User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
