BI Developer

Summary

Andersen is hiring a BI Developer for a project developing and maintaining reporting solutions for insurance services platforms, supporting data analysis, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.

Our customer is a world leader in insurance and B2B2C support, which offers global solutions that span international health and life insurance, travel insurance, cars, and their service. The company is dedicated to delivering world-class, agile, and sustainable IT solutions, driving full-spectrum digitalization.

The project is focused on insurance services for vehicles and real estate, including solutions for monitoring and tracking their condition remotely. The team is responsible for the maintenance and development of reporting solutions that support data analysis, system transparency, and decision-making across the platform.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining data extraction and transformation solutions within ELT and ETL frameworks, as well as data models for a centralized data warehouse and integration layer.
• Developing and maintaining centralized self-service reporting solutions (in Looker), dashboards, and scheduled data deliveries.
• Conducting data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data sources and reports.
• Managing stakeholders by collecting business requirements and requests related to data analysis and reporting.
• Monitoring and optimizing data infrastructure, including database systems, data pipelines, and ETL processes.

Requirements

• Experience as a BI Developer for 4+ years.
• Experience with Data Warehouse solutions based on PostgreSQL, including enterprise data warehouse architectures and backend operational databases.
• Experience with Kafka for streaming data platforms, including building and maintaining data pipelines and real-time data processing.
• Experience with Airflow for data orchestration, including complex workflow scheduling and managing automated data delivery processes (e.g., via SFTP).
• Experience with BI and data visualization tools, such as Looker (primary) and Metabase (preferred).
• Experience with Python for data engineering, including object-oriented and functional programming and working with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib.
• Experience with SQL for data querying and transformation, including writing complex queries, data manipulation, and query performance optimization.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD practices, including version control and automated deployment workflows.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Understanding of SFTP server operations and data exchange principles.
• Experience in database administration (configuration, monitoring, backup, and recovery).
