Summary

Andersen is seeking a QA Manager in Canada for a project enhancing a travel web platform, improving functionality, performance, and overall user experience.

The customer is a technology-driven company in the travel sector, providing a comprehensive booking and procurement platform for industry professionals. Its solutions support large transaction volumes, integrate with a wide network of partners, and offer tools that streamline operations and enhance productivity. Focused on innovation and scalability, the customer continues to expand its ecosystem, strengthen partnerships, and improve data accuracy to deliver a modern digital infrastructure for the travel value chain.

The project is focused on enhancing an existing web platform in the travel services domain for the North American market, improving functionality, performance, and overall user experience.

The position assumes 12 to 21 CET work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, managing, and developing a QA organization of 50+ engineers, including Manual QA and Automation QA specialists.
  • Defining and driving the overall QA strategy, standards, and quality processes across multiple teams and projects.
  • Building an effective team structure, allocating resources, and ensuring the right balance between manual and automated testing efforts.
  • Managing team performance, career growth, mentoring, and professional development of QA engineers.
  • Overseeing test planning, execution, and delivery for UI, API, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
  • Ensuring high test coverage and testing efficiency across both monolithic and microservices-based systems.
  • Driving and supporting test automation initiatives using TypeScript + Playwright and Java + Selenium.
  • Establishing and improving QA processes for release validation, defect management, risk assessment, and test reporting.
  • Ensuring proper usage of mocks, stubs, and test environments to support reliable and efficient testing.
  • Collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, Delivery, and other stakeholders to align quality goals with business priorities.
  • Monitoring quality metrics, identifying risks and bottlenecks, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting hiring, onboarding, and scaling of the QA function in line with business and delivery needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a QA Manager / Test Manager / Head of QA role for 4+ years.
  • Hands-on experience leading and managing multiple QA teams, including working with Team Leads.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test strategies, and software development lifecycle.
  • Solid experience with both manual and automated testing.
  • Deep understanding of test automation frameworks and tools, including TypeScript and Playwright, Java and Selenium.
  • Strong experience in manual testing, including API testing, UI testing, regression testing and experience working with mocks/stubs.
  • Experience testing both monolithic applications and microservices-based architectures.
  • Strong understanding of test process organization, defect lifecycle, release support, and quality governance.
  • Experience in building scalable QA processes for large engineering organizations.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-team environment and drive quality improvements across complex systems.
  • Experience with mentoring, performance management, and career development of QA engineers.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into delivery workflows.
  • Experience with modern test reporting and quality metrics.
  • Background in Agile / Scrum / SAFe environments.
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprises or product organizations.
