Go Developer (Almaty, Kazakhstan)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Go Developer in Almaty for a project building a Personal Finance Management platform with high-load backend services and financial analytics features.

Our customer is a large international technology organization operating in the digital infrastructure domain. It develops and maintains high-load platforms that process and manage significant volumes of data across multiple regions. The engineering landscape includes distributed systems, cloud-based environments, system integrations, and advanced security practices, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous platform evolution.

The project is focused on developing a Personal Finance Management (PFM) platform within a banking SuperApp. It includes processing transactional data streams through Kafka, aggregating and categorizing financial data, and enhancing high-load backend components to deliver advanced financial analytics and user-focused digital banking features.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical leadership for the backend direction of the PFM platform.
• Coordinating backend developers and monitoring task execution.
• Conducting technical syncs and daily meetings.
• Decomposing tasks and assigning them to the development team.
• Developing and enhancing new backend features in Go.
• Participating in architectural solution design.
• Optimizing PostgreSQL queries and overall system performance.
• Working with Kafka streams and real-time data processing.
• Designing and enhancing financial transaction categorization mechanisms.
• Implementing and controlling idempotency and consistency mechanisms.
• Participating in backend service performance tuning and scaling.
• Analyzing system bottlenecks and implementing technical improvements.
• Implementing monitoring, logging, and profiling practices.
• Supporting the production environment and troubleshooting complex incidents.
• Collaborating with analysts, integration teams, and other technical departments.
• When necessary, participating hands-on in development and demonstrating best practices to the team (“lead by example”).

Requirements

• Commercial experience with Go for 2+ years.
• Strong proficiency in Golang, particularly with frameworks such as Gin, GORM, and Sarama.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL (SQL), including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Solid foundational knowledge of Apache Kafka.
• Experience with Redis and caching strategies.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs and gRPC services.
• Familiarity with design approaches and patterns including microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and API design.
• Excellent architectural design skills, with a thorough understanding of non-functional requirements like performance, security, data consistency, and completeness.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Proficiency with Git and repositories such as GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Ability to produce quality documentation, including UML and other architectural diagrams.
• Experience working with documentation platforms such as Confluence.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
