Summary

Andersen is hiring a Data Engineer for a project developing analytical data platforms, scalable DBT pipelines, and data solutions supporting reporting and business decision-making.

The customer is a UK-based financial services provider focused on delivering modern digital banking solutions for consumers. The company develops technology-driven financial products designed to improve accessibility, operational efficiency, and customer experience. By leveraging cloud technologies and modern engineering practices, it continuously enhances its digital capabilities while supporting sustainable growth in a highly regulated financial environment.

The project is focused on developing and maintaining analytical data capabilities for reporting, business analysis, and product decision-making. It includes DBT-based transformation pipelines, analytical data models, and data marts that consolidate data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality, scalability, and reliable delivery for downstream users.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines using DBT.
  • Designing and enhancing analytical data models and data marts.
  • Working with multilingual data models and complex data transformation logic.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data quality and production issues.
  • Supporting production releases and investigating incidents when required.
  • Collaborating with Data Architects, Analysts and Product teams to deliver new data capabilities.
  • Participating in onboarding and sharing knowledge within the team.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Data Engineer for 3+ years.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Commercial experience with DBT.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with AWS Glue (PySpark), Lambda (Python), AWS design, Cloudformation/Terraform.
  • Experience with modern data warehousing concepts (ELT, dimensional modelling, data marts).
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or similar).
  • Understanding of Git and CI/CD processes.
  • Ability to investigate production issues and optimize existing data models.
  • Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience with BI/reporting tools.
  • Experience in Financial Services or Banking projects.
