Chief Data Architect (EU)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Chief Data Architect in the EU for a project developing a global travel management platform and designing scalable data solutions to support digital transformation.

The customer is an international organization providing business support and operational services to clients across multiple industries and markets. The company delivers tailored solutions that help organizations coordinate complex activities, optimize service delivery, and improve operational efficiency. Leveraging international expertise and modern digital technologies, it supports customers through scalable solutions designed to address evolving business needs and enhance overall service quality.

The project is focused on developing and enhancing a global travel management platform that supports group travel, meetings, incentives, conferences, and events. It aims to streamline travel operations, improve collaboration across international teams, and deliver scalable digital solutions that enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining the enterprise data architecture, including data models, standards, and principles.
• Defining and managing logical and physical data models in line with business and technical requirements.
• Designing data flows, integration layers, and interfaces between systems (ETL/ELT processes, APIs, message queues).
• Contributing to the design and maintenance of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical platforms.
• Implementing data governance principles – management of data domains, metadata, data quality, and reference data.
• Collaborating with security and compliance teams to ensure data protection and GDPR compliance.
• Supporting the development of data strategy and data culture across the organization.
• Documenting data structures, standards, and methodologies.
• Providing expert guidance to projects in the area of data layer design.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical; 3NF, star schema, snowflake) for 4+ years.
• Expertise with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.) and modern data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica, dbt, Synapse, Data Factory).
• Familiarity with data governance, master data management (MDM), and metadata management.
• Understanding of integration architectures (REST, SOAP, messaging, event streaming – e.g., Kafka).
• Experience with data modeling tools (Erwin, PowerDesigner, ArchiMate, Enterprise Architect, dbdiagram.io, PlantUML),
• Familiarity with BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
